Description: The Amazon Dolphin Lodge is located in the Pañacocha protected forest reserve (56,000 hectares), and is central to a biological corridor linking Yasuni National Park and the Cuyabeno Wildlife Refuge. Pañacocha is classified as a Humid Tropical Forest. Wildlife is in abundance everywhere in the reserve. A short list of possible observations includes: Howler, Squirl, Capuchin and night monkeys along with the Black-mantled Tamarin and Pigmy Marmosets, and of course the Amazon Pink River Dolphin!! 

Thanks to our central and privileged location in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon, our professional local guides, our multilingual staff, and our motivation, we offer a hands-on experience of the jungle. We are able to achieve a wide range of possibilities to explore the plants, animals and cultural diversity of the area and provide the adventure that, without a doubt, you have been looking for..!

Amazon Dolphin Lodge is a member of YUTURI CONSERVATION GROUP, an organization involved in rainforest conservation projects helped by San Carlos Foundation.

Available days: (4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS) FRIDAY TO MONDAY  or  (5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS) MONDAY TO FRIDAY.

Important gear: Camera, sunscreen lotion, cap or hat, sun glasses, binoculars, walking sticks, backpack or handbag, comfortable hiking boots, walking shoes or tennis shoes, T-shirts, long sleeves shirts, long trousers, short troursers, wind breaker, waterproof jacket, passport, and some cash (US dollars) for drinks and tips.

Insurance: It is responsibility of every traveler that he/she is adequately insured against personal accidents and medical expenses during his/her trip to Ecuador, as well as having travel cancellation and baggage insurance to protect him/her.

Tour booking policies: Our tours are based on private trasnportation and guiding services. - All tour prices are given in U.S. dollars. - All services should be fully pre-paid before starting the tour. - Bookings must be done through www.suviatour.com, or by paying directly at our offices. - For last minute bookings, our clients must request availability via phone or e-mail. After confirming availability, bookings must be fully pre-paid before starting the tour. - Special physical conditions, allergies and dietary restrictions must be informed to a Suviatour´s representative in advance. - Our tours will be guided in fluent English, or Spanish languages, as it is required. For special language requirements, passengers should inform at least 5 days in advance. - Suviatour shall have no liabylity with passengers in case of accidents or sickness. Therefore, Suviatour deeply recommends private travel insurance. - Suviatour reserves the right to cancel or suspend tours depending on weather conditions, natural disasters, government regulations, etc. Always regarding for the safety of the passengers. - Under no circumstances, Suviatour will refund money on the same day that the tour takes place. Cancellations must be done 48 hours previous the departure day.

Amazon Dolphin Lodge (5d/4n)

  1. MONDAY: Leave Quito by plane to the small Amazon city of Coca. Travel down the Napo River and arrive at the Amazon Dolphin Lodge and the Bosque Protector PAÑACOCHA. Lunch will be served during the trip. Arrival at the lodge at around 05:00 p.m. Dinner. Night walk along a short trail to observe insect life, night monkeys, reptiles etc. and listen to the fantastic evening concert of the jungle.
  2. TUESDAY: Cruise the Pañacocha lagoon by paddle canoe while observing the fantastic variety of birds visible from the water’s edge and through the flooded forest. Return to the Lodge for breakfast. Go out in paddle canoes again to reach a trail-head. Along the way we will see the incredible flooded forest vegetation, observe riparian wildlife and tread through the islands created by vegetation to see the colonies of birds and their nests along the river’s edge. Hike along an exclusive trail to admire the diversity of vegetation and terrestrial birds. Lunch on the trail. In the evening we will have fun, fishing pirañas! Dinner and relaxation. (During the course of the day there will be plenty of opportunities to get a chance to observe the Pink Amazon River Dolphin).
  3. WEDNESDAY: Breakfast. Go out on a jungle trail hiking adventure for three hours, traversing through wild virgin rainforest which is the heart of the Bosque Protector Pañacocha. We will observe a huge number of wild medicinal plants that are utilized by the local indigenous communities. We will also observe Mackaws, Parrots, Parakits, Tucans and many other wild animals, such as insects and reptiles that live in the area. In the afternoon we will come together with the native guides to share their knowledge about the use of the most feared weapon of the Ecuadorian Amazon known as the “BODOQUERA or CERBATANA”, or known as the Amazonian Blowgun. Dinner. Night trip in the small rowing canoes (piraguas) in the river Panayacu and Pañacocha lagoon. (During the course of this day as well, there will be plenty of opportunities to observe the Pink Amazon River Dolphin.)
  4. THURSDAY: Early in the morning, after breakfast, we will take the motor canoe and whined our way down the narrow Panayacu River to the confluence of the great Napo River where we will visit the local native community and observe their customs and way of life. We will, at this time if you choose, also have the chance to support them by buying their beautiful seed jewelry and other crafts. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will have an amazing trip to Wooley Monkey Island. This is an important protected reserve to protect and increase the Wooly monkey populations. Return to the Lodge. Dinner and relaxation.
  5. FRIDAY: Cast off from the Amazon Dolphin Lodge in the motor boat first thing in the morning returning to Coca. Catch the return flight back to Quito. End of services.

Amazon Dolphin Lodge (4d/3n)
